miEdge Chief Data Officer, Richard V Lowney Honored by Boys and Girls Clubs

New Boston, NH - November 1st, 2016, Boys and Girls Clubs of America presented its prestigious “Heart of the Region Award” to New Hampshire Alliance board President, Richard Lowney. The award is the organization’s highest regional honor bestowed upon board members. Lowney, an Amherst resident, received the award at the BGCA 2016 Northeast Leadership Conference on October 27, in Manchester, NH.

Dusty Miller, BGCA National Area Council Board Member, stated “Rich Lowney is an invaluable leader and inspiration to Boys & Girls Clubs not only in New Hampshire, but throughout New England and across the country.”

The award recognizes Lowney for his outstanding dedication to the Boys and Girls Club Movement. Lowney was raised in Malden, Massachusetts and is a proud alumnus of the Charlestown, Massachusetts Boys & Girls Club.

 He has served the organization as a board member for 33 years, and is a past-President of both the Greater Nashua and Souhegan Valley Boys and Girls Clubs. Additionally, Lowney has served as the state Alliance President for the past 15 years, growing its capacity and outreach. The New Hampshire Alliance of Boys and Girls Club now serves more than 31,000 boys and girls in 13 Club sites and 9 cities.

“A quality organization relies on leadership,” said Ronald Hadorn, Northeast Regional Vice President of BGCA. “Rich brings his small business ownership experience mixed with his perspective of being a former Club Kid to contribute to positively impacting the lives of thousands of children in his state on a daily basis. He is certainly deserving of this award.”

Lowney, a Vietnam-era veteran, served the United States as a computer technician in the Army. Since leaving the Army, Lowney has founded a half dozen successful software-based companies. The serial entrepreneur is a founding partner of Clearview Software of Amherst, Class Real Estate of Amherst, and miEdge™ of New Boston.  In addition to his work with the Boys and Girls Clubs, Lowney travels to colleges to speak to college students interested in Big Data, Cloud and Analytic software applications in business.
