miEdge Wins TechOut Startup Competition

Insurance Industry Positioned to Serve Clients More Efficiently with Revolutionary Hi-Tech Solution.

New Boston, NH, December 1, 2012 - miEdge™ the premiere business intelligence provider for insurance industry employee benefits professionals today announced that it was named  the winner of the 2012 inaugural New Hampshire TechOut Competition . This award recognizes miEdge™ as the first company to successfully design an affordable and intuitive user interface to manage, sort and save the expansive public data available from the Department of Labor Health/Welfare Employee Benefits. 

Keenly aware of the need for this type of solution, Co- founders Mark Smith CEO, Richard Lowney CTO and Rus Rilee, General Counsel began development of the miEdge system in 2011.   The innovative miEdge™ system uses sophisticated search engine technology to create an efficient business intelligence interface with Department of Labor Health/Welfare Employee Benefits data.   The miEdge™ business intelligence system is hosted on the cloud as a SaaS (Software as a Service).  Anyone in the Insurance industry can easily subscribe through the miedge.biz website and in less than 25 minutes of training, begin to effectively use the application.

The TechOut program recognizes and supports promising young companies and advanced technology innovation in New Hampshire and its neighboring states.  TechOut is organized by the New Hampshire High Tech Council and abi Innovation Hub with a panel of Judges from the Entrepreneur Foundation of NH.  Six finalists were selected from over 30 applications. Each applicant participated in two rounds of presentations to the TechOut judges and a final presentation to over 200 attendees took place on September 20th at Nanocomp Technologies, Merrimack, NH.  TechOut provides cash awards annually to three companies: $50,000 for first-place, $30,000 for second place, and $20,000 for third-place.
